Tulsa is located in the northeastern quadrant of Oklahoma, right in the heart of “Green Country.” Tulsans enjoy 227 days of sunshine a year and an average daily temperature of 61 degrees. The rainfall average is approximately 40 inches, and continually changing conditions occur in the city during all four seasons.

Tulsa boasts a widely diversified business base, including aerospace, telecommunications, manufacturing, construction, high technology, healthcare, education, transportation and energy.
Tulsa, one of “America’s Most Livable Communities,” is known as the Mecca for arts in Oklahoma. Recreational destinations are plentiful with access to many lakes, gorgeous parks and garden centers, as well as award-winning golf courses such as Southern Hills and LaFortune Park. Popular museums are the Philbrook Museum of Art, the Tulsa Air & Space Museum, The Tulsa Zoo & Living Museum, The Oklahoma Aquarium, and the Gilcrease Museum. Ten higher education facilities serve the metropolitan Tulsa area. Options range from community college and vocational studies to undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs at both public and private universities. Tulsa's higher education opportunities abound with the University of Tulsa, Oral Roberts University, OSU-Tulsa and OU-Tulsa campuses, Tulsa Community College, and Tulsa Technology Center.
Tulsa is surrounded by many fast-growing suburbs, Jenks and Broken Arrow. Tulsa and the surrounding areas are known for excellent public schools. There are three school districts in the city of Tulsa with Tulsa Public Schools being the primary district. With over 40,000 students it is the largest school district in Oklahoma. The Tulsa public school system has nearly 90 schools in the district, nine of them high schools as well as several charter schools. Jenks and Union schools are the other two districts, each with one upper high school. Union is the second largest high school in the state and Jenks is the third. These two districts cover the southern portion of the city.
There are also numerous private schools in the Tulsa metropolitan area. The Catholic diocese of Tulsa supports a private school system that includes Bishop Kelly High School and Cascia Hall Preparatory School. Most other private schools have religious affiliations with various Jewish and Protestant denominations.
